Sariaya East District's SALIKSIK 2025

On March 24, 2025, the Sariaya East District held the 7th Annual Multidisciplinary Student Research Conference with the theme “Empowering Young Minds Through Research and Action” at Pili National High School.
This event, also known as Saliksik, is a district-wide research conference that showcases outstanding research studies conducted by Grade 12 students from various schools within the Sariaya East District. Notably, Quezon National High School (QNHS) marked its second year of participation in the research conference, bringing remarkable research studies from Grade 12 students across all strands.
One of the studies presented in the event was the “Comparative Analysis of Perceptions Among Grade 12 Students Toward the Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Strand” by Kathleen Atienza’s research team. Their study aims to validate the differences in perceptions among Grade 12 students toward the HUMSS strand based on Academic Difficulty, Social Opportunities, Senior High School Dynamics, and Societal Value, with the goal of developing a school-based inclusivity program.
Atienza and her team earned 2nd Best Research Paper and 2nd Best Research Presentation in the HUMSS category, showcasing the mastery and impact of their study within the educational context. They were commended for conducting an organized and systematic research study, effectively integrating quantitative data analysis and theoretical frameworks to support their findings. Additionally, the panelists were greatly impressed by the team’s presentation skills, noting their exceptional group dynamics. Their ability to communicate their research effectively left the panelist speechless, further solidifying their well-deserved recognition at the conference.
Atienza’s team was greatly thankful for the guidance of their coach, Sir Abraham A. Sanchez, and to their 3I’s teacher, Ma’am Rona Ann Cea, for guiding them throughout their research journey.
With this recognition, the group has proven that the HUMSS strand is beyond stereotypes, paving the way that quantitative approach and involvement of numerical data can also be successfully conducted by HUMSS students. Their work sets a new benchmark for future HUMSS researchers, encouraging them to pursue data-driven studies that contribute to academic and societal discourse.
